Calendar Beta Test

April 25, 2008 by Jonas Höglund

First of all, thanks to everyone who has helped us test our new calendar. The launch has been a success, and most things work as expected.

We’ve received a lot of positive feedback, but also a few bug reports along with a number of feature requests. Here is a condensed version of the most common ones. Please add to the comments if you have any further questions in respect to the bugs, or if you would like to discuss our features and the ones we’re planning for.

Synchronize

  • “Synchronize your calendar” link is not working in Firefox
We are working on a better solution for publishing your calendar. Until we’re done, you can copy the address of the link, and paste the address into the subscribe field of your calendar. We will soon have a tutorial ready for you on how to do this. If you’ve already figured out how to do this, it would be great if you wanted to share it with the rest of us by adding your solution to the comments below or by sending us an e-mail at feedback@stixy.com.
  • Subscribe to external calendar
We have gotten a fair amount of requests for the need to subscribe to external calendars. We are planning to add this feature, and hope to have it ready soon.

Integrate with Stixyboard
The integration between your Stixyboards and the calendar is currently very limited. This, however, is highly prioritized and what Stixy is all about. As the calendar gets more finalized, expect it to be fully integrated with your Stixyboards, where you can share events and to-do’s between the two.

Sharing
As with the integration with the Stixyboards, sharing and collaboration is at the center of Stixy. We hope to have some sharing functionality ready soon, with full support ready short after. Before we can add full sharing functionality the way we want it, we need to figure out exactly how to do it across all of Stixy (Stixyboards, calendar, future file libraries, etc).

Popup is too small
The space is too limited for the calendar. The way it’s currently displayed, in a popup, is a temporary solution. We are currently working on a new design of Stixy where we will have better use of the screen real estate. Until then, you can open the calendar in it’s own window by using the address http://www.stixy.com/calendar?popup=true (if you’re logged in).

Better support for different time/date formats
We will add more time formats as time goes by. For now, you have a couple to choose from in your settings, http://www.stixy.com/setting.

Multiple calendars, categories, tagging
We are planning to add tagging functionality to the calendar. By tagging an entry, the plan is that you will be able to share, sort, filter etc. based on the tag. We are also planning to add the possibility to color code entries, based on tag.  As with the sharing, we first need to figure out how to do this across all of Stixy, since we want the tagging to be fully integrated.

Calendar should start on Sunday, instead of on Monday
You have the possibility to choose if you want the calendar to start on Monday or Sunday in your settings, http://www.stixy.com/setting.

Finally, Stixy is now ready for some Safari!

February 27, 2008 by Jonas Höglund

I’m happy to announce that we now support Safari 3.0, both on Mac and PC. As always, we’ve been working hard to make everything look and work the same, no matter which browser you’re using, as long as we support it. In addition to Safari, we support Firefox 1.5 and 2.0 on Mac, Linux, and PC as well as Internet Explorer 6 and 7 for PC.

In addition to the news about Safari, we have released many, many new features over the last few months. I will blog more about some of the new features during the weeks to come. We have also fixed several bugs, small and big, and migrated to a new hosting partner.

Still, this is just the beginning. We have a number of new features coming out during 2008. As a matter of fact, in just a few weeks we will release a new major feature, which will improve Stixy’s ability to help our users to stay even more organized.

But, more about that in a couple of weeks.

Stixy goes from Private to Public beta – and to San Francisco…

September 25, 2007 by Jonas Höglund

On September 17th, we presented Stixy at the DemoPit at the TechCrunch conference in San Francisco. It was great to see all the companies presenting their products and getting an overwhelmingly positive response to Stixy!

Other than that, we are now able to offer Stixy to everyone as a Public Beta. So, go ahead, invite friends, family, and colleagues and start to create, collaborate, and share. That’s all for now.

Tag filter to help keep track of your Stixyboards

September 6, 2007 by Jonas Höglund

We just implemented a tag filter to help you keep track of all those Stixyboards. We hope that they are starting to add up. You find it above the list of already created Stixyboards. We have also added a new section under “About Stixy” called “How to use Stixy”. Here you find information about basic functionality as well tips & tricks. We will soon add two additional sections here called “Testimonials” and “Your own Stixyboards” where we will publish your testimonials as well as examples on our users’ Stixyboards.

If you want us to share your comments or Stixyboards, please send me an e-mail at maria@stixy.com. We are always eager to hear what you want to say and how you use Stixy.
